About This System

Deluge systems have open (non-fusible) sprinkler heads connected to a dry pipe. When the deluge valve opens — triggered by a fire detection system — water floods every head in the zone at once. They are required in aircraft hangars, chemical storage facilities, power transformers, and other high-hazard occupancies where rapid, simultaneous coverage of the entire area is essential. Annual inspections must test the deluge valve, detection system, and all nozzles.
