About This System

Foam suppression systems mix water with a foam concentrate to produce a blanket that smothers flammable and combustible liquid fires and prevents re-ignition by separating fuel from oxygen. They are required in aircraft hangars (NFPA 409), fuel storage facilities (NFPA 30), and loading rack areas. Foam systems require semi-annual or annual inspection of concentrate levels, proportioning equipment, nozzle condition, and system activation components.
