About This System

Halon 1301 and 1211 were phased out under the Montreal Protocol due to ozone-depleting properties. Buildings and aircraft with legacy halon systems require replacement with approved alternatives such as FM-200, Novec 1230, FE-13, or inert gas blends. Halon replacement projects require a licensed contractor experienced in both legacy halon system removal and the engineering of compliant replacement agents, cylinder requalification, and detection system integration.
