About This System

Pre-action systems require two independent events — typically a detection signal and a sprinkler head activation — before water is released into the pipes. This double-interlock design virtually eliminates accidental discharge, making pre-action systems the preferred solution for data centers, museums, libraries, and cold-storage facilities where unintended water release would be catastrophic. NFPA 25 requires annual inspection of the pre-action valve, detection system, and all associated components.
